"The officer’s primary concern was that I might have been talking about politics with the villagers. I told him I was interested in writing only about the daily life of the local people, and he seemed satisfied. He asked to see my pictures and to listen to the tape I had made.
“You should always travel with a guide,” the officer warned. “It is not safe. Many people hate Americans.”
http://www.escapeartist.com/efam/55/Escape_To_Vietnam.htmlИли так...
As an American...I can say from experience...that many of us here are little people...i.e. low income and are therefore...not polished like some...
In 1969 I entered the U.S.Army...and as an enlisted man was assigned a job...given 11B...which is light weapons infantryman...trained and sent to Vietnam...We fight so you can talk...that is the take home message...
Keep on expressing your views...anyway you choose...It's good to be Free...
No you didn't. You enlisted for Vietnam because you wanted to. You killed because you wanted to. And you died because you wanted to (you wanted, at least, to be where there was that possibility). I assure you dumbfuck, that you didn't kill for me, die for me, or anything else for me. 2.3 million dead Vietnamese people- many of them children- and you're still blathering that my free speech rights were somehow dependant on millions of dead poor people. Dumb-ass! Now, take that message home to the little goobers and gomers whom I'm sure are waiting for it.
